Air jet impingement cooling for hot stamping dies

The strength of panel sheets can be increased by 2–3 times after hot stamping, and for high quality stamped sheets, uniform cooling rate on the die face to quench is needed. However, it difficult water channels, commonly used stamping dies, dissipate heat evenly. In addition, dies are easily corroded contact with at temperature. Thus, this study considers air quenching process. airflow applied sheet directly during forming stage cool quench, eliminating difficulties channel design providing more cooling.
